By nature, whisky is easier to store than wine: as it does not change in the bottle, it can be kept under most regular conditions with no negative effects: temperature, light, and humidity have little effect on it, as long as the bottle's stopper remains intact. That said, it must be kept out of direct sunlight, and it is ill-advised to store a bottle of whisky on its side, as the high alcohol content may damage the cork over time.
